Ryan is back. Expect pictures of myrtle and zoey :)
We've been skiing ALOT over the past three weeks. And by a lot I mean, three days a week. I went down my first black diamond run last weekend, pretty exciting, really, considering that mere and I have been skiing for a meager 19 days.

==================================
I've been seeing a lot of patients from New Mexico with severe meth mouth lately. People that can afford to live in Durango, generally do not have a serious meth problem. Yay! Durango! New Mexico, on the other hand, with it's oil fields, shitty towns, consumes a ton of meth. Meet my 8 A.M. patient from this morning, Tommy, 21 years old, has been using meth for "about three years." Tommy doesn't bother to brush his teeth and seemed completely indifferent when talking about saving said teeth. I scheduled three hours for this little shit next month and if he doesn't get a serious cleaning before then, we're going to have a problem. I'm going to take out the teeth that are done (you should see the molars), 12 in total, root canal what I can, and then get him in some valplast partials. I've been using these for younger, decay ravaged patients lately. I think putting a metal bar with acrylic teeth in a 21 year old is weird. Maybe it's just me. This dude is headed for the awful life-long process of full dentures, quick. Sucks to be him. My words of advise: "no more meth." New Mexico. Kind of like the old one, but with Taos.
2 root canals on the book for today and my idiot front-desk lady wants me to do a crown for her. I'm gonna botch it and leave it in super occlusion, just because she sucks :)

Effington
My hometown, Effingham Illinois is made famous in Ben Folds' new song Effington. My brother brought this to my attention via facebook and the song totally sucks. Ben Folds has gone on one serious downhill slide since releasing his first album. Still, it's pretty cool to have THE Ben Folds (of all people) write a song about your shitty, tiny little home of 15,000 people.

Titus makes some smokin bikes. Love that american shizz.
Good luck getting one of Van Dessel's sick cross bikes. They're sold out already.
This week went fairly well at the office. Meredith and I completed a six unit veneer case yesterday that should look pretty good when it's all said and done. I now understand why my boss doesn't want to do any crown or bridges anymore; it takes it out of you. By the end of the day I was only able to swallow one beer and could hardly get on my mountain bike for a ride. Regardless, I did Raiders Ridge to Nature trail and it was the bomb. Here are a few pics:
The other day I fockin' endoed again on a ride. Some guy smoking a cig' and watching his dogs saw the whole thing. He mustered a little laugh. I can feel my fitness getting better but I still bite it on the downhills occasionally. It would be different if I were slamming downhill after a fifth of Glenlivet, but i'm sober most of the time! Check out these sexy beasts from interbike. God I want a full suspension.
Big road ride tomorrow (with Tom Danielson) - 100 mile pic report on sunday. Lets get bloggin' again!
The new office was the bomb, methinks.

Long Road Ride, Celtics/Lakers, Pictures
First of all, congratulations to the Boston Celtics on moving to the NBA Championship for the first time in 21 years. Wonderful storylines abound when the Lakers and the Celtics meet in the championship. I personally can't wait to watch the drama unfold. The Big 3 vs. Kobe and company. If the Lakers win the championship, the comparisons to Jordan are going to get serious. Right on. Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett may be the nicest two players in the NBA. Watching Paul Pierce and Doc Rivers hug at the end of the game was fantastic. God I want the Celtics to win the championship.
Today I did my first road ride in Durango. My ass/hands are hurting and I did a little hiking yesterday so I needed to stay off of the trails for my first day out here. Yesterday I did some "back country" mountain biking and totally got off of the trail I was on. I thought I was lost, but it all worked out and I hiked my prideless self back to the river. Here are a couple of pics of Durango, so all my peeps can get an idea of what it looks like.
Durango really is a cycling mecca. From the door of our condo I can get on singletrack that goes for 15+ miles in a matter of minutes. Just east of town there are loops that go on, and on, and on..... Amazing cycling. As I sit here, legs so tired, watching the Cubs play the Rockies, the only things I think I'll miss from Chicago are professional sports and Wrigley Field. That pains me to say that. Speaking of baseball, my Cardinals are hanging around in the NL Central and a lot of "experts" seem to think they are one of the top five teams in all of baseball. If they (the cardinals) ever get Carp and Mulder back....watch out yah'll.
I'm so tired, so I'm gonna take a nap and then try to do a quick spin-down tonight on some easy trails. After being here for four days, I'm already tan and my legs are coming back quickly. Rather than uploading music like it's my job...i'll prob. just add a video or two per day that I'm rocking....

New Blog, Same Awesomeness
I formerly ran a blog (toofrunner.blogspot.com) that was ubber trendy and very solid in the infant stages of music blogging. Now, I'm a dentist and don't get to sit around in my room and talk about music all day.....either way I'm stoked. I just moved to Durango, CO and made an 18+ hour trip in a car by myself. I'm here now, and feel more at home than ever. I still think there is an audiance for what I have to say and I'll have music, pictures, and commentary along the way. Feels good to be back. Update on my life:
